Teaching SonoDraft to Sound Like You

Two small settings that make every note feel like it came from you — not a robot.

Out of the box, SonoDraft writes well. Grammatically clean. Professionally structured. Perfectly fine. But "fine" isn't the same as "you." If someone read your notes without knowing who wrote them, would they guess it was you? Would they hear your voice in it?

Two settings close that gap. They take about two minutes to set up. Once done, every note sounds like you wrote it on your best day — without you having to edit a thing.

Step 1: Teach it your words

SonoDraft uses speech-to-text under the hood, and speech-to-text has a weakness: names, product names, jargon, and niche terminology often come out garbled. Your client "Sridhar Raghunathan" becomes "Shri da Ra guna than." Your internal tool "KaizenFlow" becomes "Kyzen flow." It's subtle, but it kills the confidence in your output.

The Special Vocabulary setting fixes this. Add the names, brands, and terms that matter to your work — separated by commas — and SonoDraft will treat them as untouchable. They come out spelled exactly right, every time.

Step 2: Tell it how you like to sound

The custom style prompt is a plain-English instruction you give once. It can be three words — "concise and punchy" — or a full sentence — "write like a thoughtful startup founder who values clarity over cleverness." Either way, SonoDraft applies it to every note until you change it.

This is the difference between AI writing that's technically correct and writing that sounds like it came from you specifically. The style prompt is your voice, distilled.

Need a starting point?

If you're not sure what to write, tap "inspirations" in the Manage Styles screen. There are five ready-made prompts — including therapist mode, explain-it-like-I'm-10, and roast speech. Tap "Try this" on any of them and it loads instantly. Use it as-is or edit it to fit.

Once you've set your vocabulary and style, you stop editing. You just record.

Both settings live in Manage Styles, accessible from the Settings screen. Two minutes of setup. Every note sounds like you, from that point on.
